Hear tales in regards to the water

The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society will host “Odawa Stories of the Water” at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23 on the museum, 349 E. Main St. 

Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians members Mae Wright, Emily Proctor and Jacob Keshick will lead the academic night and share tribal tales and traditions associated to water.

Explore Nature within the Park

The Nature within the Park academic collection for kids is again this summer time in Boyne City’s Old City Park. 

The free program is designed for kids ages 3-6, however households and children of all ages can take part. They will probably be guided by a nature theme every day with enjoyable hands-on actions within the park. The first day will probably be on Wednesday, June 24, and the theme is “River.” Kids will find out about animals that dwell within the Boyne River and accumulate some specimens with nets and jars. 

The program runs from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays June 24-July 29, aside from the week of July 4. No reservation is required, however go to charlevoixcd.org for extra info. 

Go for a nature stroll

The Little Traverse Conservancy will lead a moss and lichen stroll by the Oden Island Nature Preserve at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24. 

Guests will study all about these particular species and their roles in nature.

Enjoy the circus 

The Kingdom of Wonders Medieval Circus is placing on a present on the Famous Soo Locks Boat Tours in Sault Ste. Marie June 23-25. 

Performances are at 6 p.m. each day with acrobatics, aerial acts, comedy and extra. Admission is free. Seating is on a primary come, first serve foundation.

Chew on cookies in Mackinaw City

Wednesday, June 24 is Cookie Day on the Icebreaker Mackinaw Maritime Museum in Mackinaw City. 

From 10 a.m. to five p.m., friends will obtain free cookies (whereas provides final) and study in regards to the icebreaker’s conventional Mackinaw WAGB-83 cookie recipes.
