OYSTERVILLE — Sometimes Double J and the Boy sing in Spanish. Sometimes in Swedish or Cowboy or English. Sometimes even in Yodel! And, in keeping with Judy Eron, the group’s spokesperson, “We’re arranging our Vespers program differently this year in honor of our nation’s 250th birthday. It will be fun!”

Their many followers are the primary to agree that “whatever Judy and her musical partners Janet Clark and Charlie Watkins present at next Sunday’s Vespers, the operable word will be ‘fun!’”

The Vespers service will start at 3 p.m. subsequent Sunday afternoon, with the normal “Oystervillle Moment” by village elder Sydney Stevens and an inspirational message by visitor Pastor Bob Cantonwine. Pianist Suzanne Knutzen will accompany the hymn-singing as assortment baskets are handed by the congregation. Proceeds go to the day-to-day repairs of the historic church.

The public is invited to “come as you are” to those free, inspirational music providers which have been a trademark of the Historic Oysterville Church for greater than 40 summer time seasons. The Music Vespers sequence is sponsored by the Oysterville Restoration Foundation and arranged by Sue and Bill Svendsen of the Peninsula Arts Center of Long Beach.
