The first full moon of summer time, June’s Strawberry Moon, wowed skywatchers worldwide with a spectacular show.
June’s full moon was the lowest-hanging full moon of the 12 months for observers within the Northern Hemisphere. That’s as a result of a full moon at all times sits reverse the solar within the sky. During the summer time solstice that simply handed on June 21, the solar was following its highest path of the 12 months; which means this full moon took the other route, skimming low throughout the southern sky.
It rose within the southeast, remained low above the horizon all through the evening and set within the southwest, delighting photographers all over the world. Here are a number of the greatest pictures.
