Student Travel Support Grant

International adventurers Mary and Don Sherman have a eager understanding of what it means to be a citizen of the world. Particularly by means of their involvement in Rotary International, the worldwide library the Sister Cities applications, they’ve gained an appreciation for a spread of various cultures and have established fulfilling relationships with pals everywhere in the world. Both OU graduates, Mary and Don are leaders and beneficiant donors to many areas of the University. 

Through Mary’s service on the School of International Studies’ Board of Visitors, the School of International Studies offers restricted funds to assist SIS graduate and undergraduate pupil journey for networking, analysis and academic actions. Students might apply for funds as much as $1,000 per educational 12 months (fall-summer) for analysis or attendance at instructional applications. 

 

Eligibility Criteria:

• Must be a full-time, often enrolled undergraduate SIS pupil who has accomplished a minimal of 1 12 months of research at OU, or a MAIS graduate pupil who has accomplished not less than 9 credit score hours of graded coursework
• Applicants will need to have a minimal total GPA of three.0 for undergraduates or 3.5 for graduate college students

Deadline: Student Travel Support Grants are awarded on a rolling foundation all through the educational 12 months.  Students might submit their utility supplies at any time at a minimal of two weeks earlier than their journey date.  

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

If you might be touring out of the US, you have to register your emergency contact info with OU Education Abroad (there’s a $50 price for this service), and you have to buy CMI insurance coverage by means of OU Education Abroad.

Any pupil unable to finish this system will likely be required to return the total quantity of the award to the School of International Studies.
