The Strawberry Moon rose on 29 June 2026, marking the primary full Moon of summer time within the Northern Hemisphere.

Named after the month through which wild strawberries have been historically ripe for selecting, the complete Strawberry Moon’s look within the sky is an indication that the brighter months are lastly upon us.

One photographer who captured the Strawberry Moon rising is Aquib Ali Ansari, who witnessed it above the majestic palace of Jal Mahal in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.

Rather than a single publicity, Aquib photographed the Strawberry Moon quite a few occasions after which mixed over 190 sequential photographs to disclose its obvious movement throughout the twilight sky.

“The final composition illustrates the Moon’s graceful journey while preserving surface detail in each position,” says Aquib, “creating a visual representation of the passage of time against one of Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks.”

Here’s how he did it.

Capturing the lunar drift

“I had been planning the shoot for several days, watching the weather forecast and moonrise timing, hoping everything would come together on the evening of the full Moon,” he says.

“Jal Mahal is one in all Jaipur’s most iconic landmarks, and I needed to create a picture that mixed the great thing about this historic location with the movement of the Moon.

“I arrange my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV DSLR digicam with a Sigma 150–600mm lens on a tripod overlooking the palace and photographed the Moon repeatedly because it climbed above the Aravalli Hills.

“The digicam remained mounted all through the session whereas I captured greater than 190 sequential photographs over a number of minutes.

“The problem was working inside the brief window of twilight. The brightness of the sky adjustments shortly after moonrise, so publicity needed to be rigorously balanced to retain element in each the Moon and the panorama.

“I also wanted the final image to feel natural while clearly conveying the Moon’s movement.”

Processing the ultimate picture

“Back residence, I mixed the sequence in StarStaX utilizing the Lunar Drift approach, making a swish path that illustrates the Moon’s obvious journey throughout the night sky.

“I then accomplished the ultimate processing in Adobe Lightroom, making refined changes to publicity, color steadiness, distinction and noise discount, whereas preserving the pure ambiance of the scene.

“What I really like most about this picture is that it exhibits one thing we do not usually understand.

“The Moon’s movement is simply too sluggish to note in actual time, however by compressing a number of minutes right into a single body, the {photograph} reveals its swish path whereas the timeless silhouette of Jal Mahal stays nonetheless beneath it.

“It’s a creative way of blending astronomy, landscape photography, and the passage of time into one image.”
