FAIRBANKS – Dorka Dancsok and Cosima Schmiedel of the Alaska Nanooks swimming group garnered 2025-26 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American accolades on Thursday. Dancsok earned First Team honors, whereas Schmiedel was named to the Second Team.

“Dorka and Cosima being selected for this award shows how much care they put into their work in the pool and in the classroom,” stated assistant swim coach Logan Indest. “I am glad they were able to represent UAF nationally for their excellence academically and athletically.”

Last season, Dancsok turned the primary Nanook to compete within the NCAA Championships since Charlotte Fletcher-Stables did so in 2023-24, and the primary Nanook All-American since Oda Bygdnes in 2018-19 after inserting sixteenth in 400-yard IM.
