The SEIU 503 Veterans Caucus is constant its mission of service by organizing a Blessing Bag donation drive to help veterans experiencing homelessness.

Throughout the month, members can donate important provides on the SEIU 503 Portland and Salem places of work. The collected gadgets will likely be assembled into Blessing Bags and distributed to veterans experiencing homelessness in the course of the Round Up on the YMCA in Salem on September 2.

The Veterans Caucus is devoted to advocating for and supporting Oregon veterans, navy households, active-duty service members, National Guard members, Reservists, and their allies. Through group outreach and volunteer service, the caucus works to make sure veterans have entry to assets, help, and alternatives to thrive.

Requested Donation Items

The Veterans Caucus is amassing:

• Travel-size toothpaste
• Toothbrushes
• Travel-size hand sanitizer
• Granola or protein bars
• Bandages and antibiotic ointment
• Travel-size shampoo and conditioner
• Small bars of cleaning soap
• Travel-size deodorant
• Lip balm
• Peanut butter or cheese crackers
• Gum or exhausting mints
• Bottled water
• Tea or scorching cocoa packets
• Tuna pouches (not cans)

Please carry donations by August 25 so volunteers have time to assemble the Blessing Bags earlier than distribution.
