Blissfest, the annual people and roots music pageant, is happening July 10-12 on the 200-acre Festival Farm close to Cross Village.

Hear powerboats roar

The twenty third Annual Boyne Thunder Poker Run is ready for Saturday, July 11, with high-octane powerboats making stops in a number of lakeshore communities. 

The boats will begin in Boyne City at 10:15 a.m. with a parade, then head over to Charlevoix for lunch at midday. The thunder boats will go away Charlevoix at 1:35 p.m. and head out to Lake Michigan. They’ll be making stops in Elk Rapids, Northport, Bay Harbor, Harbor Springs and Horton Bay to gather poker playing cards earlier than ending again in Boyne City. 

You may also see the boats up-close throughout Stroll the Street in Boyne City on Friday night time.

Enjoy “The Music Man”

The Bay View Association will stage “The Music Man” this weekend on the John M. Hall Auditorium. 

Showtimes are at 8 p.m. on each Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $36 for non-members, $32 for members and $29 for kids underneath age 18.

Hit the hoops

Local basketball gamers can present their abilities on the 3-on-3 Gus Macker Tournament in Sault Ste. Marie July 11-12. 

Teams will likely be competing in a number of age classes. The registration location will likely be at Sault Ste. Marie City Hall from 4-7 p.m. on Friday and from 7:30 a.m. to midday on Saturday.

Explore the Alverno Fire Department

The Alverno Fire Department is internet hosting an open home and ice cream social from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, July 12. 

Guests can meet the firefighters, tour the station and see the tools, and luxuriate in free scorching canine, chips and ice cream. Donations of blankets and stuffed animals are welcome.
