Common Ground Ministries Holds Fun Mondays This Summer

Common Grounds Ministries of Clay Center is operating a program for youngsters from kindergarten to sixth grade on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. known as Fun Mondays. It will run by way of August 3.

The program begins with a breakfast included with the free program, adopted by worship that includes music and a devotion. Children will then have two exercise classes starting from training lessons to inventive actions.

Bob Stratton of Common Ground Ministries stated the concept for Fun Mondays got here when the faculties altered their very own summer season program schedule.

“We have after-school programs during the school year and several years ago, we used to do what was called Summer Fun and that was five days a week. Then the school got money for when they got behind with COVID,” he stated. “They received grants for a summer program. They ran the summer program all summer long, so we didn’t run that. Then last year, the schools went to just two weeks right after school, so we decided to do Fun Mondays last year. It went well, so we went ahead and continued it this year.”

Upcoming classes embrace pottery, portray and launching bottle rockets, a science class, cooking and jewellery. A puppet ministry will shut this summer season’s Fun Mondays.
