Swimming facility opens at Sojourner Truth State Park in Kingston – Daily Freeman

KINGSTON, N.Y. — Dozens of officers and swimmers celebrated the opening of the Lake Sophia swimming facility at Sojourner Truth State Park on Friday.

The occasion featured speeches and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, earlier than members of the general public and organizers jumped into the turquoise waters for the primary time on Friday morning, July 17.

Katie Pape, 41, who lives in Kingston, introduced her three boys for the opening swim.
