Katie Nickitas Named Head Diving Coach at Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont Swimming and Diving program has employed Katie Nickitas ’08 because the Head Diving coach, Head Coach Gerry Cournoyer introduced on Thursday morning.
“We are thrilled to welcome Katie back to the University of Vermont as our new Diving Coach,” mentioned Cournoyer.

“As a UVM alumna, Katie has a deep understanding of our program, our values, and what makes UVM such a special place for student-athletes.”

 

Nickitas was a member of the Vermont swimming and diving program from 2005-2008. She accomplished a double main in Liberal Arts and Gender Studies at Rutgers University in 2023. In May of 2025 she earned her Master of Social Work with a specialization in Integrated Practice and Programming from Columbia University.

 

“I am thrilled to be back home with Catamount Swimming and Diving,” mentioned Nickitas. “It is an honor and a privilege to be again on the pool deck with Coach Cournoyer and to be main the Catamount Divers this yr. I’m trying ahead to a profitable season, Go Cats Go!
