Then and Now – Step again in time with new Elmbridge Museum pictures exhibition

Residents can uncover how Elmbridge has modified over time in a brand new exhibition opening this September at Riverhouse Barn, Walton-on-Thames. 

Then and Now: Elmbridge Through Photographs runs from Wednesday 16 September to Sunday 4 October, displaying a singular assortment of historic images from Elmbridge Museum’s archives alongside present-day recreations taken from the identical places.  

To mark the museum’s 52nd anniversary, Elmbridge Borough Council employees volunteered to recreate a choice of historic images, capturing the identical streets, landmarks, and views as they seem immediately. The ensuing exhibition presents a captivating glimpse into the borough’s altering panorama whereas celebrating the individuals and locations which have formed Elmbridge’s id over time.  

The exhibition is free to go to and open day by day from 10am to 4pm, with no reserving required. 

As a part of Heritage Open Days, Elmbridge Museum may even host a programme of actions at Riverhouse Barn on Saturday 19 September, together with tabletop museum shows, a Surrey Diggers-themed escape room and a chat exploring the historical past of Walton’s Mount Felix.
