FORT COLLINS – Colorado State women’s swimming and diving coach Christopher Woodard announced the addition of Brynn Sproul to the staff today, adding a young, rising coach with a history of success.
Sproul spent the past two seasons with UNLV, with the Las Vegas native joining the Rebels first as the director of operations before adding assistant coach duties in 2025-26. A former U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier, Sproul entered coaching after an outstanding career at BYU where she still holds the school record in the 200-yard backstroke while ranking second four other events.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brynn Sproul to Colorado State swim & dive! Brynn is a highly recommended assistant coach with an extensive competitive background of her own,” Woodard said. “She impressed us immediately with her passion for holistically developing student-athletes and her high-level of organization and communication. She is a coach on the rise and will provide our team with some punch, especially in the mid-distance stroke and individual medley events.”
While competing for the Cougars, she earned seven first-team all-conference honors in backstroke and freestyle events – including individual championships in three different events — while maintaining a record of achievement in the classroom by being named a four-time NCAA Academic All-American. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in communications disorders in 2023, later earning her Master’s of Science in management and leadership from Western Governor’s University in 2025.
In her two seasons with UNLV, the Rebels finished in the top three at the Mountain West Championships. Her first coaching stint came with Team Rebel Aquatics –her club team growing up — starting in 2023.
“I’m incredibly grateful and excited to join the Colorado State swim & dive family. Coach Woodard has built a culture centered on excellence, meaningful relationships, and developing outstanding student-athletes, and I’m honored to work alongside him and the rest of the staff,” Sproul said. “I’m excited to invest in our student-athletes, help build on the success and momentum of this program, and contribute as we begin an exciting new chapter in the Pac-12. Go Rams!”
As a prep, Sproul was a state champion at Del Sol High School, setting her school record in the 100 back and the state 16-17 record in the 200 back.
