The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has introduced that the mileage reimbursement fee for medical and medical-legal journey bills has elevated by 3.5 cents to 76 cents per mile, efficient July 1, 2026.
The new fee have to be paid for journey on or after July 1, 2026, whatever the date of harm. Labor Code part 4600, Government Code part 19820 and the California Department of Human Resources laws set up the mileage reimbursement fee for medical and medical-legal journey and tie it to the speed established by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
IRS bulletin IR-2026-29, issued July 13, 2026, introduced the speed improve. The up to date mileage reimbursement type is offered on DWC’s web site.
