When Hallmark launched its 2023 Hanukkah film “Round and Round,” the editors right here at Kveller and our companion website Hey Alma had been surprised. “Round and Round” wasn’t just a great Hallmark movie, it was a great movie period. The rom-com stars Dropout sensation Vic Michaelis as Rachel, a guide editor who will get caught in a time loop on the seventh evening of Hanukkah. In order to interrupt the cycle, Rachel enlists the assistance of her grandmother’s menschy and very engaging artwork instructor Zach (Bryan Greenberg). Romance ensues.
Now, it seems that Vic had simply nearly as good a time making “Round and Round” as we did watching it. In a latest episode of Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney’s podcast “What’s Our Podcast?,” Vic mentioned that making the film “was the most fun thing I’ve ever done.”
“You do two takes and they go, ‘We got it,’” Vic relayed to Beck and Kyle. “And I go, ‘I don’t think I even said all my lines.’ And they go, ‘It’s going to cut together perfectly.’”
And you realize what? It did minimize collectively completely — and that’s not simply our opinion. When “What’s Our Podcast?” shared a clip of Vic talking about “Round and Round” on their social media, followers poured into the remark part to say how a lot they cherished it. One remark with over 400 likes proclaimed “Round and Round” the perfect Hallmark vacation film, and one which must be talked about extra. (Agreed!) Other commenters share that they bought and/or hunted down bodily copies of the film so they might add it to their Hanukkah-viewing repertoire.
