When Rachel Bullock and Molly Purnell of Laun had been tapped to remodel a household residence in Los Angeles’s Highland Park neighborhood, the designers had been on a mission to revive the property to its former glory. The main bed room feels “calming” drenched in Benjamin Moore’s Palladian Blue. “It’s so subtle once you’re in there that you kind of forget you’re in this color,” the consumer says. Meanwhile, the en-suite rest room presents a contemporary tackle spa-like serenity with a pink Fireclay Tile bathe backsplash and vainness swathed in Benjamin Moore’s Timson Green.

The youngsters’s rest room is equally joyful with Benjamin Moore’s Wythe Blue on the partitions and a swipe of Brick Red for the trim. But the room’s pièce de résistance? A punchy Fireclay Tile flooring, a selected ask from the consumer’s son. “He wanted a checkered pattern so that he could in theory play chess on the bathroom floor,” Bullock says. “He wanted to make sure that there was enough contrast between the two tile colors that it would read strongly.”
