Garner and Benzing make A-Finals on the USA Toyota National Championships

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University swimmer Jed Garner and Towson swimming & diving alum and present director of operations Brian Benzing competed within the USA Swimming 2026 Toyota National Championships this week. The meet befell on the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center in Irvine, California from Tuesday, July 28 till Saturday, August 1.
 
Jed Garner first swam within the 200m breaststroke on Wednesday, the rising senior was in seventh total (2:11.68) after seven preliminary heats qualifying him for the A-final later that night. In the championship warmth, Garner once more completed seventh with a time of two:11.20.
 
Brian Benzing’s meet began with the 50m breaststroke on Thursday. After 9 preliminary heats Benzing certified for the A-final ending in seventh place total with a time of 27.42. He went on to swim 27.57 within the championship to as soon as once more place seventh.
 
Both Garner and Benzing swam within the 100m breaststroke on Friday. Out of 9 preliminary heats, Garner swam 1:00.99 to earn a spot within the B-final, and Benzing would end 23^rd total with a time of 1:01.54. Garner went on to position second within the B-final with a time of 1:00.76.
