A well-liked Martha’s Vineyard seaside is predicted to reopen Monday after a swimmer was pulled from the water and brought to a neighborhood hospital Friday.
Long Point Wildlife Refuge seashores have been closed Saturday and Sunday after a person struggled to return to shore simply earlier than 4 p.m. on Friday. He was rescued by West Tisbury emergency responders and brought to Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.
Emergency officers advised the Martha’s Vineyard Times that there was a robust rip present within the water, and the swimmer had hassle getting again to the seaside.

According to the Trustees, the Massachusetts conservation group that runs the seaside, weekend reservations have been refunded for guests who had bought passes.

The National Weather Service had announced on Friday that there was a heightened threat for rip currents, particularly at Nantucket and east-facing seashores on the outer Cape. On a map posted on social media, the West Tisbury seaside was highlighted as dealing with a “moderate” threat.
