We are excited to announce a name in search of proposals for a Gaming in Libraries problem of Library Trends!

No longer a distinct segment leisure exercise, gaming has developed right into a mainstream cultural exercise that intersects with literacy, digital citizenship, STEM studying, and neighborhood constructing. As libraries proceed to redefine their roles as neighborhood hubs and facilities for casual studying, many have embraced gaming by means of circulating collections, programming occasions, and devoted gaming areas. From tabletop role-playing video games to esports tournaments, from classic console collections to digital actuality experiences, libraries are leveraging video games to interact numerous populations, construct Twenty first-century abilities, and create inclusive social areas.

This problem of Library Trends seeks to look at the present state and future instructions of gaming initiatives in libraries of all kinds. We welcome articles and case research that discover how libraries are constructing, managing, and assessing sport collections and gaming packages, in addition to the affect of those initiatives on library customers and communities.

We invite proposals for authentic articles (4,000-8,000 phrases) that handle gaming in library contexts. Full particulars can be found with the proposal form. Proposals are due September 21, 2026.
