Miami Swimming and Diving Proclaims 15 Newcomers to Roster

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University swimming and diving head coach Samantha Pitter has introduced the addition of 15 student-athletes to her program forward of the 2026-27 season.

 

CJ Bernardo, Alessia Cappelli, Alexandra Casanovas, Liam Clark, Abbie Curry, Elizabeth Gregory, Kohl Hanes, Mila Hoffman, Camilla Indadeski, Paige Lingenfelter, Evelyn Mulvihill, Joel Silver, Brady Stenson, Alyssa Uhlman and John Zeidler will be part of the RedHawks this fall.

 

“We’re incredibly excited to welcome this group to Miami Swimming and Diving. As we looked for our next great class, we weren’t simply looking for talented swimmers and divers—we were looking for young people who embody the values and culture we are building within our program,” Pitter mentioned. “This group brings a tremendous combination of competitive drive, academic excellence and character. They each have unique strengths that will help elevate our team, and more importantly, they are committed to something bigger than themselves. We believe they will make an immediate impact in our training environment while continuing our tradition of Graduating Champions. We can’t wait to get them on campus and begin the work together.”

• Named group captain as a senior
• Placed second at states as a junior
• Won the group state championship as a senior
• 100-yard free state champion as a senior
• Holds the varsity report for the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay

 

Alessia Cappelli, Diver, Rome, Italy (Convitto Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele II)

High School: 

• Competed for MR Sport dei Fratelli Marconi

 

Alexandra Casanovas, Swimmer, Yorkville, Ill. (Rosary High School)

High School: 

• Named group captain as a senior
• Conference champion for the 50 and 100 free as a junior
• Sectional champion within the 200 medley relay in her senior season
• Named to the IHSA state group as a junior and senior

 

Liam Clark, Swimmer, Mason, Ohio (Mason High School)

High School: 

• State meet finalist as a junior
• Summer junior nationwide reduce within the 400 IM as a junior
• Winter junior finalist as a senior
• Ohio District and state champion as a senior
• Named NISCA Boys High School Swimming All-American as a senior
• Holds the varsity report for 100 Breast and 200 IM

 

Abbie Curry, Swimmer, Oxford, Ohio (Talawanda High School)

High School: 

• District Champion as a junior
• State medalist in 50 free as a junior
• Holds the varsity report for 50 free and 100 breast

 

Elizabeth Gregory, Swimmer, Williamsburg, Va. (Lafayette High School)

High School: 

• Named a group captain as a senior
• Earned all-state, all-region and all-district as a junior and senior
• VHSL class 4 champion of 200 free
• Holds college information for the 200 free and 100 again

 

Kohl Hanes, Swimmer, Arnold, Md. (Broadneck High School)

High School: 

• Named a group captain as a senior
• County Champion in 200 Free, 500 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay as a junior
• County Champion in 500 Free, 400 Freestyle Relay, 200 Medley Relay as a senior
• Holds the varsity report for the 200 freestyle relay

 

Mila Hoffman, Swimmer, Avon, Ind. (Avon High School)

High School: 

• Top 16 IHSAA 200 and 500 free as a junior
• NCSA Qualifier as a junior
• Top 8 IHSAA Finalist in 200 and 100 free as a senior
• Holds the varsity report for the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.93)

Alyssa Uhlman, Swimmer, Cincinnati, Ohio (Ursuline Academy)

• Earned the convention athlete scholar award as a senior
