Allnutt Names Program Nice as Males’s and Girls’s Diving Coach

HONOLULU — University of Hawai’i swimming and diving head coach Steve Allnutt introduced the hiring of QiongJie “Ajie” (Huang) Drew as this system’s new males’s and girls’s diving coach. Drew, a 2013 inductee into the UH Sports Circle of Honor, turned Hawai’i’s first nationwide champion in diving when she gained the 1-meter springboard title on the 2005 NCAA Championships, setting a meet report with a rating of 327.00. Across three seasons with the Rainbow Wahine, she earned eight NCAA All-America honors, putting third within the 1-meter in 2006 and fourth within the 3-meter in 2005.

In convention competitors, Drew was a five-time Western Athletic Conference champion, capturing three consecutive 1-meter titles from 2004 to 2006 and successful the 3-meter title in 2004 and ’05. Her performances earned her WAC Diver of the Year honors in 2004 and 2006, whereas serving to lead UH to its first WAC workforce championship in 2006.
