HILTON HEAD ISLAND, Sc. (WTOC) – A famend movie star photographer is bringing his private story of dwelling with Alzheimer’s illness to Hilton Head Island.

Memory Matters will host photographer and Emmy-nominated producer Mark Sennet for “A Celebrity Photographer Turns His Lens to Alzheimer’s” on Thursday, Oct. 8. The free program will run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Grace Community Church, positioned at 450 Spanish Wells Road.

Sennet spent 25 years as a Time-Life photojournalist and movie star photographer for Life and People magazines earlier than starting his profession in movie and tv.

His assignments took him world wide to {photograph} presidents, royalty, athletes and cultural icons, together with Muhammad Ali, Ronald and Nancy Reagan, Barbra Streisand, Andy Warhol, Paul Newman, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers and Cher.

The program is a part of the Memories Do Matter Speaker Series, introduced by Dave Ekedahl. The collection brings nationally acknowledged audio system to the Lowcountry for public conversations about dementia, caregiving and mind well being.

The October occasion is sponsored by Grace Community Church and the Hilton Head Firefighters’ Association.
