I didn’t get to go on the Pantanal journey with Donna Bourdon and Harold Klein as I had different bookings, however they certain did hit the jackpot. My flight to Finland began in NY. I flew into Helsinki then onto RVN for my first wolf, wolverine, and bear images tour. The climate in Finland right now of 12 months averages a cool 50 levels. Ugh, it jogged my memory of the previous tripod days… I haven’t used a tripod for wildlife in a very long time. I benefit from the freedom of hand holding. I do know some of us use a tripod religiously, however I simply can’t. So, getting use to it once more felt very constricting. After about an hour of frustration I made a decision to simply handhold my 200-600mm lens connected to my new Sony 7r6…. a lot better! 

The format for the hides was good. There are a number of at every location and most match one or two folks with a pair accommodating three, 4, 5 and 6 company.
