The 2026 George Washington High School Mega Reunion Committee hosted a joyful week of occasions.
The gathering introduced again alumni from 1969 to 1989, reuniting mates 37 to 57 years after commencement. For some, this was their first time seeing classmates who had left Guam after highschool for school or army service.
On July 26, specifically, a reunion for multi-class graduates passed off on the Dusit Thani Resort Guam. Banquet Chair, Toni Vegafria from the category of 1980, stated over 500 alumni spanning from GWHS Classes of 1969-1989 attended the occasion. Nearly 100 off-island alumni travelled to Guam to take part in festivities.
Class of 1997 GWHS alumna, Alicia Cruz Aguon, says seeing courses from 1969 to 1989 come collectively reminds her of how particular the college was to her.”
We grew up collectively on this island, and with over 500 alumni in a single place on the banquet, we celebrated not simply our reminiscences, however the legacy we stock ahead as Geckos,” stated Aguon.
The reunion motto was “Throughout the Years: One School, Many Stories.”
Vegafria stated the committee chosen Diana Ross’s “If We Hold On Together” because the night’s theme tune due to its message of religion, hope, shared reminiscences, and coming house — reflecting the spirit of the reunion.
