Houghton and Juanita Beaches Are Closed for Swimming – City of Kirkland

As of 4 p.m. on Aug. 18, 2026, Public Health – Seattle & King County is recommending that folks and pets keep out of the water on the swimming areas of Houghton Beach Park and Juanita Beach Park for a minimum of one week as a result of elevated micro organism ranges. Signs will likely be positioned to point that folks and pets ought to keep out of the water. The remainder of Houghton Beach and Juanita Beach Parks stays open.
