Evans Added to Swim Program Employees

GUNNISON, Colo.  Head swim coach Justin Hastings has introduced the hiring of Halee Evans to the workers of the Western Colorado University girls’s swimming program.

Evans was a member of the Mountaineer swim program from 2023-25 and returns now to patrol the deck with Hastings, who was employed to steer this system in March 2026.

“I am excited to have Halee join the staff! As a former Western team member, she brings valuable experience of the unique environment that our student-athletes operate in,” mentioned Hastings about bringing again Evans. “Her familiarity with the program and school will allow her to hit the ground running both in the water as well as academics and community.”

Evans helped Western on the pool deck starting late within the 2025-26 season, helping the interim teaching workers heading into the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship meet.

She introduced together with her throughout that point a number of years of teaching expertise, together with as an assistant coach and the top precompetitive coach for the City of Lenexa (Kansas) membership program.

“I am so excited to be returning to Western as the assistant coach and Aquatics Director,” Evans said. “I cannot wait to start working with our talented swimmers and to help grow the aquatics program at the University.”

Hastings and Evans will lead the Mountaineers into the 2026-27 season, which begins with the Intermountain Shootout on October 2 and three at Colorado Mesa University.
