WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) – Eleven websites in Eastern Carolina failed this week’s Swim Guide water-quality assessments, in line with Sound Rivers.
Those websites have been Mason’s Landing on Tranters Creek, the waterfront and Havens Gardens in Washington, Dinah’s Landing at Goose Creek State Park, Cotton Patch Landing on Blounts Creek, Old Waynesboro State Park in Goldsboro, Brices Creek, Trent Woods, River Bend, Pollocksville boating entry on the Trent River, and Slocum Creek in Havelock.

“We’ve had some pretty heavy rains lately, so that means more bacteria is washing into our waterways,” stated Sound Rivers Volunteer Coordinator Emily Fritz.
