North Alabama man’s physique recovered from water in Wetumpka’s Corn Creek Park

ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – The physique of a lacking swimmer has been recovered in Wetumpka’s Corn Creek Park, the Wetumpka Police Department is confirming.

Searchers pulled the physique of Qadir Lyle, 18, of Decatur, from the water round 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Lyle was a freshman and member of the Faulkner University Eagles soccer workforce.

He was discovered after hours of looking out Friday afternoon, in line with the Wetumpka Police Department.

First responders have been referred to as to the scene round 4:15 p.m. Friday after reviews {that a} swimmer had gone below the water and by no means resurfaced.

Corn Creek Park is situated off the Coosa River close to the downtown Wetumpka space and is a well-liked space for swimming and canoeing.

Search and rescue operations have been referred to as off Friday evening as a consequence of dusk and inclement climate circumstances within the space, with plans to renew at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Lyle’s physique was recovered a little bit below three hours later.
