Bates Swimming and Diving Welcomes Tom Jansen to Employees

LEWISTON, Maine – Tom Jansen has joined the Bates College swimming and diving employees as an assistant coach and Aquatics & Pool Operation Manager, introduced in the present day by head coach Peter Casares.

Jansen arrives at Bates following two seasons as lead assistant coach for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps swimming and diving applications, bringing collegiate teaching, recruiting and aquatics operations expertise to Lewiston. At CMS, Jansen designed coaching plans for distance swimmers, offered on-deck teaching and video evaluation, managed recruiting and assisted with group operations.

In addition to his teaching duties at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Jansen served as aquatics supervisor from 2025-26. Prior to his time at CMS, Jansen spent the 2023-24 season as lead assistant coach at Occidental College.
