Three generations of the Sailer family are working collectively to usher in the harvest at their farm north of Zap.

Justin Sailer has grown up in a mix.

“I like to help out. I grew up working all my life, so I got to keep working,” Eugene Sailer mentioned.

“He’s just having fun getting to do what he loves to do every day. We don’t ask him to come out. He just shows up every morning. He’s always ready to go and gives him something to look forward to,” Justin Sailer mentioned.

Eugene Sailer has labored this land his whole life. He’s the third era to farm right here. His son, Troy Sailer, is the fourth; Justin and Karlee Sailer are the fifth.

“It’s pretty awesome when you got the third, fourth and fifth generations working together,” Troy Sailer mentioned. “It is pretty special. We’re blessed.”

“Not everyone is lucky enough to work with their 91-year-old grandpa every day,” added Karlee Sailer.

Eugene Sailer mentioned his grandkids educate him one thing new every single day.

“They’re a lot smarter than I am. This computer stuff, that’s not for me,” Eugene Sailer mentioned.

But his grandchildren mentioned the true classes come from their grandfather. He has taught them the worth of arduous work, the satisfaction of harvesting a crop and the significance of getting enjoyable.
