Dahl Arts Center Seeking Submissions for ‘Afterimage’ Photograph Show

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Photographers of all expertise ranges are invited to submit work for Afterimage, a juried exhibition exploring the connection between images and reminiscence.

The Rapid City Arts Council says the exhibit will look at how photographs protect, alter or create recollections, with themes together with reminiscence, loss, absence and storytelling. Entries can embody documentary, portrait, panorama, nonetheless life, conceptual, staged, summary and different images.

The competitors has three classes: Youth, Adult Amateur/Hobbyist and Adult Experienced/Professional. Cash prizes embody first-place awards of $75 to $100, a $125 Best of Show award and a $100 People’s Choice Award.

The submission deadline is Jan. 8, 2027. Adult entries value $10 per {photograph}, whereas youth entries are free.

The exhibition will run Feb. 19 by way of April 3, 2027, on the Dahl Arts Center. An opening reception is scheduled for Feb. 19 from 5 to 7 p.m., with awards introduced at 6 p.m. The reception is free and open to the general public.
