A seashore on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts is closed to swimming after a lady suffered a possible shark chew on Monday afternoon.
Emergency personnel responded to Norton Point in Edgartown at roughly 1:40 p.m. for a report of a swimmer who sustained an damage to her decrease leg whereas within the water.
Edgartown Town Administrator James Hagerty mentioned the girl in her twenties had “wounds consistent with a bite from a marine animal.”
“No shark or other marine animal was observed or confirmed in connection with the incident,” Hagerty mentioned in a press launch. “Based upon the nature of the injuries, however, the wounds were considered consistent with a potential shark bite.”
The lady was handled on the scene by Edgartown Fire and EMS and brought to the hospital for additional therapy. Her accidents had been reported to be non-life-threatening.
