ANAHEIM, Calif. — The sport between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels was delayed for about 10 minutes Wednesday night after a foul ball struck a photographer within the head.
Yankees first baseman Ben Rice’s 79.5 mph line drive went down the first-base line into the digital camera nicely. Yankees gamers gathered on the far finish of the dugout to examine on the person, and staff coach Tim Lentych referred to as for added assist from Angels trainers and paramedics.
Rice, with helmet and bat in hand, stood subsequent to the digital camera nicely, watching as Park was handled. The photographer ultimately walked to the medical cart on his personal energy, shaking Rice’s hand as he was fitted with a neck brace.
The photographer, Steven Park, was working for the Sporting Tribune, based on the Angels. The staff mentioned that based on the outlet, Park was doing OK afterward.
“Very relieved. I saw he was not ready for any kind of impact there,” Rice mentioned. “He was looking the other direction, and I saw it hit him. I wasn’t sure how square it him in the head, but definitely a scary scene. I’m happy to hear that he’s OK.”
