Hundreds embrace their German heritage at Columbus Oktoberfest

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — Columbus is getting a style of Munich, Germany this weekend for the sixtieth annual Schmidt’s Columbus Oktober Festival.

From the scent of sausages to the sound of German music, 1000’s of individuals are becoming a member of in on all of the enjoyable on the Ohio Expo Center.

Carla Epler, the Executive Director of Oktoberfest, stated the sense of tradition and neighborhood is what it’s all about.

“It is that feeling of inclusion, fun, frivolity and these pavilions make it what it is. It is intimate, there’s a lot of people here, but you feel like you’re part of the party,” stated Epler.
