IU INDY SWIM AND DIVE SWEEPS WEEKLY HORIZON LEAGUE AWARDS

INDIANAPOLIS – The Jags swept this week’s #HLSD awards after incomes wins over Cleveland State and Youngstown State. Yassin Abdelghany and Victoria Surdyka took the Horizon League Swimmer of the Week awards whereas Kirby Danglade, in his first collegiate meet, and Lindi Jenkins earned Diver of the Week.
 
MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Yassin Abdelghany / IU Indy / Sr. / Alexandria, Egypt

• Led IU Indy to a win over Cleveland State and Youngstown State with two particular person wins and two relay wins
• Took first within the 50 free with a time of 19.39
• Earned first within the 100 fly with a time of 47.05
• Helped earn first within the 200 medley relay (1:27.93) and the 200 free relay (1:19.55)

 
WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Victoria Surdyka / IU Indy / Sr. / Buffalo Grove, Ill.

• Led the ladies’s group to a sweep over Cleveland State and Youngstown State
• Took first within the 200 IM with a time of two:08.07
• Picked up one other win within the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.76
• Led the Jags to a 200 medley relay win (1:42.59) and 200 free relay (1:35.02)

 
MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Kirby Danglade / IU Indy / Fr. / Fishers, Ind

• Led the Jags on the diving boards of their win over Cleveland State and Youngstown State
• Took the highest rating within the 1-meter with a rating of 264.00
• Earned second within the 1-meter with a rating of 265.40

 
WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Lindi Jenkins/ IU Indy / So. / Ann Arbor, Mich.

• Led the ladies’s group on the diving boards this previous weekend
• Took second within the 3-meter with a rating of 227.65
• Earned third within the 1-meter with a rating of 213.75

 
The Jags will subsequent be in motion on October 3 after they host the IU Indy Invite. IU Indy will host Xavier, Bellarmine, Eastern Illinois, Bowling Green and Butler within the IU Indy Natatorium beginning at 12:00 PM.
