The world’s finest meals images competitors is open for entries! Submit your tasty pictures to win the highest £5,000 prize

The World Food Photography Awards sponsored by Tenderstem® Bimi® Broccolini are open for entries for his or her 2027 version of the competitors. Now in its sixteenth yr, beginner {and professional} photographers are invited to share their captures of meals tales from all world wide, whether or not informed by way of panorama, journey, portrait, road, documentary or another type of images. The general winner will obtain £5,000 (GBP) and all finalist pictures will likely be exhibited on the Mall Galleries in London. A hand-picked collection of finalist pictures will even be displayed at Fortnum & Mason in Piccadilly, London, and each finalist is invited to the VIP Awards Evening on 18th May 2027. 

With more than 25 categories, photographers can discover meals in each context and thru all genres – from rising and harvesting to cooking, consuming, celebrating and surviving. Categories vary from Bring Home the Harvest and Food for Sale to Food Portraiture and World of Drinks. For the primary time, the winner of the Award for Innovation class will obtain a bursary of £1,400 and a 4-week residency on the Hugo Burge Foundation.

Uniquely, the 2027 Awards Evening coincides with RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and to mark the event a one-year-only class has been launched: Feast of Flowers. Photographers are invited to submit lovely, evocative and artistic pictures exploring the connection between meals and flowers, from flourishing kitchen gardens to floral nonetheless lifes, from cooks utilizing edible petals to truffles with floral ornament, or fields the place crops and flowers develop facet by facet.

“Food photography is about so much more than a pretty picture of food on a plate,” says Caroline Kenyon, Founder of the Awards. “It tells stories of people, places, cultures and the world we live in – from celebration and community to hardship and survival.” Photos that contact the hearts of viewers, educate, make us snigger and current acquainted topics in a brand new method, are extremely inspired.

The 2027 world judging panel is chaired by extensively printed meals photographer, David Loftus. His fellow judges embrace Rein Skullerud, Senior Photographer and Photo Editor on the United Nations World Food Programme; Claire Reichenbach, CEO, James Beard Foundation; Tom Athron, CEO, Fortnum & Mason; Javier and Sergio Torres, three-Michelin-starred cooks, Cocina Hermanos Torres. 

For photographers, the Awards can present a path to new skilled alternatives. “This is the most highly regarded food photography awards,” says Costas Millas, earlier finalist. “Last year I was lucky to secure a lucrative job having had a client find my work from the Awards’ shortlist.”

Previous finalist Jerónimo Heitor Coelho describes the competitors as “an opportunity for recognition, but also a valuable way to challenge yourself, refine your visual voice, and share your work with an international audience.”
