Student Activities Council President Jonathan Jurchen this custom has been going for longer than he has been a pupil. He stated the powder puff is targeted on Concordia’s feminine representatives and that it offers college students an opportunity to see that the athletes are enjoyable to observe and help.

“It gives a spotlight for our female athletes in particular,” he stated. “[The game] gives our students a chance to see, ‘oh, we have these female athletes, and they’re good—they’re fun to watch. You should go and support their events.’”
