No. 14 Wisconsin Badgers kick off their season at house with an intrasquad

MADISON, Wis. — The No. 14 Wisconsin ladies’s swim and dive crew opened their 2026-27 season at house with a high-spirited intrasquad meet. Team Black took the win, 617–596, over Team Red.

TEAM BLACK

Senior Maddie Waggoner and sophomore Sarah Larsen began Team Black off robust, incomes first (5:48.37) and second-place (5:54.48) within the 600 freestyle. The pair additionally positioned first (3:48.60) and third (3:54.97) within the 400 freestyle.

Brooke Corrigan received the 150 breaststroke (1:34.18) and the 50 breaststroke (27.98) for the crew.

Off the boards, Julia Herring, Vivian Kinnard and Zara Karimi earned second (140.70), third (131.40) and fourth-place (129.37) respectively within the one meter.

TEAM RED

Maggie Wanezek earned the crew a handful of first-place finishes, successful the 150 backstroke (1:20.00), 50 backstroke (23.78) and 200 freestyle (1:45.57).

Hailey Tierney positioned first within the 50 freestyle. She additionally earned third-place within the 150 freestyle.

Freshman Ainsley Stephan made her Badger debut successful the 150 butterfly and the 50 butterfly. She positioned eleventh within the closing 200 freestyle.

Divers Ryane Neal and Maggie Lapina positioned first and fifth within the one meter.

The meet concluded with a full-team 200 freestyle. For Team Red, Wanezek earned first-place (1:45.57) and sophomore Andrea Dworak third (1:49.26). Isabelle Enz of Team Black positioned second (1:46.85).
