In a multitude of limited edition designs and color schemes, the Secretlab Titan Evo Warhammer 40,000 Ultramarine edition distinguishes itself from the rest – at least in my perspective.
The company, recognized for producing various top gaming chair models, has accomplished something exceptional with the Ultramarines edition seat. Although it is indeed a standard Secretlab Titan Evo at its core, it represents a very unique iteration of the chair and stands as one of the finest instances of a product that resonates with fans of the source material.
From striking colors and contrasts to exquisite details and design accents, all enveloped around one of the best gaming chairs available today, it is a marvel, showcasing quality.
Every detail is intentional
Of course, it’s not a discreet design, and numerous features of its fantastic special edition aesthetics are clear and bold. Most notably, the striking Ultramarine emblem in gold emblazoned on the rear of the chair and the laurel-wreath logo on the backside; these elements are quite prominent, as they rightfully should be on any self-respecting Ultramarine’s battle gear.
These are enhanced by vibrant, yet not overly flashy, accents of black and gold running along the sides of the seat and the wings of the backrest. These elegantly break up the vast expanse of blue color in a stunning manner, and the angular designs and form of these elements perfectly reinforce the significance of order and control in the lifestyle of the Space Marines.
There are also more nuanced design features: raised lines and circular shapes that resemble screw tops give the chair a unique, armor-like aesthetic, mirroring the way armor panels are engraved, finished, and assembled to ensure both fit and functionality.
My personal favorite feature, however, is the skull Purity Seal affixed to the left side of the headrest. It’s a clever reference to characteristics we observe on Space Marine armor that showcase their unwavering faith and morality akin to medals.
This detail could have easily been overlooked; a subtle feature from the fictional armor that is already so well represented through the colors, aesthetics, and structure. It’s a fantastic addition.
The end result is a straightforward chair that imitates something fictional so thoroughly that it appears almost tangibly brought to existence.
Eternally binding
Similar to the PS5’s Astro Bot DualSense controller, this chair represents an impressive connection to a game. In this case, it relates to one of this year’s hits Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2, and the overall appearance, aesthetic, and even intricate details such as the purity seal make it an excellent companion for Titus’ adventures against the Tyranids.
The overall look of the chair suggests, at least for me, a delightful correlation between the game you’re engaged in and the object you’re using to play it; akin to how I grinned every time I played Astro Bot with the matching DualSense controller.
While you clearly can’t feel like an Ultramarine, this may be one of the closest alternatives, and perhaps the most authentic means to don your own armor as you venture into the 41st millennium to take down Hormogaunts and Termagaunts, and confront Carnifexes in battles of bone and sinew.
Therefore, among special edition chairs and designs in general, this stands out as one of my top favorites. I’ll always appreciate brands that breathe life into our cherished games in such manner, and when it intertwines with a game, it’s even more rewarding, enhancing the sense of connection while playing. Call me quirky, but you’ll understand if you’ve ever played Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with the officially licensed controller, or if you’ve experienced the Cyberpunk 2077 Secretlab chair.
Now, where’s the gaming desk mat to complement it, along with the Chaos Space Marine edition, Secretlab?
