iPhone Photography
Interested in mastering the art of capturing stunning photos and videos with your iPhone? Lance Whitney will demonstrate how to utilize all the camera’s features and settings, how to frame and capture perfect shots, and how to apply various effects to improve your pictures. Additionally, we will examine the Photos app on the iPhone to learn how to edit and manage your images. Please bring your iPhone to class so you can experiment with the different tools and techniques discussed. Instructor Lance Whitney is a tech journalist and the author of the book “Teach Yourself Visually LinkedIn.” He has also published a book about Windows. Currently, he writes for TechRepublic, ZDNet, PCMag, and numerous other tech platforms. Previously, he served as a system administrator at Ciba Specialty Chemicals. He has taught various continuing education classes at Ridgefield Continuing Education for several years.

DSLR Photography

Fundamentals of Digital Camera Usage
Require assistance with your DSLR camera? Is the user manual that accompanied it nearly impossible to decipher? Bring your DSLR or mirrorless camera along with the manual to this class. This course aims to help you attain the skills needed to produce photos that you will be proud of and gain a solid grasp of photography overall. All pertinent buttons and settings will be clarified, ensuring that your images are well-exposed and sharply in focus. Whether you wish to capture moments with friends and family, the beauty of nature, landscapes, or sporting events, this course will undoubtedly elevate your skills. You’ll learn how to capture fast-paced action; create stunning portraits with a blurred background, as well as employ your flash like professional fashion and wedding photographers do. You’ll gain complete confidence in your photographic capabilities. The instructor, John Zappala, holds a fine arts degree and brings years of experience as both a photographer and a photography educator.
