“Nature Meets Art: ‘Tree, Human-Made Object, Human, Seedpod’ Unveils on January 10 at the Edward Jones Gallery”

“Numerous artists and photographers endeavor to capture the distinctive physical traits, personalities, and emotions of humans. However, non-human entities, whether living or not, may also display personalities and convey emotions. When an image encapsulates the essence of a nonhuman subject as though it were human, can we regard it as a portrait?” inquired Donna Levreault, one of the four artists featured in this display.    

The remaining photographers presenting their work are Charlotte Peterson, Dee Anne Dinelli, and Eric Engles.  

All proficient photographers, they have been gathering regularly since 2017 to motivate and uplift one another. They refer to themselves as “Four Eyes” as their unique talents and diverse photographic techniques have allowed them to view things from very distinct angles and to enhance their individual creativity. 

Donna and Eric are captivated by the botanical domain while Charlotte emphasizes human-made aspects. Dee Anne introduces an additional layer with her images of tattooed women, thus completing the idea of portraits.  

The opening reception for these 35 photographs is planned for Friday, January 10, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Refreshments will be available, and the public is encouraged to explore four varied interpretations of what a portrait is.
