CSCAA DII Top-25 Rankings

RICHMOND, VA. – The Men’s and Women’s Swimming teams of the Colorado School of Mines have both made a comeback to the national rankings during the holiday season, with the men advancing to #25 and the women moving to #21 in the most recent College Swimming and Diving Coaches’ Association of America’s (CSCAA) 2024-25 Division II Top 25 dual meet ranking.

Both teams from Mines began the season listed in the rankings. The men were positioned at #23 while the women held #25 before being omitted in the subsequent edition of the national rankings. Mines reentered the top-25 thanks to a successful November, as both squads remained unbeaten in dual competitions coupled with a commendable performance at the TYR/CMU Invitational in Grand Junction, Colo. The rankings are determined by a committee of Division II coaches and are intended to represent the leading dual meet teams in all of NCAA Division II. These national rankings are not designed to forecast the top contenders in a championship meet format.

Leading the December rankings were the men from Drury and the women from Colorado Mesa. There were also other recognizable teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) in the polls. On the men’s side, Colorado Mesa was positioned at #3, Simon Fraser ranked #18, and Oklahoma Christian received some votes. The women’s ranking included #13 Simon Fraser and #25 Oklahoma Christian. As a collective, Mines enters the new year showcasing a total of 24 instances ranked 25th or higher across all of NCAA Division II. Vladislav Kazakin’s seventh-ranked 1000-free and Jordan Tierney’s 10th-ranked 200-breast lead the list for the Orediggers.

Mines swimming resumes competition on Friday at the University of Denver, with events commencing at 3 p.m. A comprehensive preview of Friday’s dual will be published later on Thursday at www.minesathletics.com.
