Discovering Excellence: The Rice University Experience

HOUSTON – The Rice Owls swimming and diving squad will kick off the latter half of the 2024-25 season with a competition against the 14th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday afternoon in Tempe, Arizona. The event will be held at the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center located on the Arizona State campus.

This marks the second occasion that Rice and Arizona State have faced off in the water. Their first encounter occurred nearly two decades ago during the 2005-06 season, where the Sun Devils narrowly defeated the Owls, 109-96, in Tempe.

There will not be a live broadcast of the event. Current results for the competition can be located on MeetMobile.com, with a summary being made available on RiceOwls.com afterwards.

In the most recent meet that Rice competed in, Ella Dyson achieved two podium placements and recorded two conference-leading times at the Phill Hansel Invitational hosted by Houston, securing an individual victory in the 1650 Free with a time of 16:20.86. Dyson also took third place in the A Final of the 500 Free, clocking in at 4:46.68.

*1 & 3 meter diving will occur simultaneously with the swimming events.
