Visit during the month of January to experience photography by local artist, Roxanne Keller.

Regarding her creations, Keller explains, “Toronto is a vibrant Canadian metropolis that represents a balance with nature while also experiencing change and growth. Seen on foot or by car, the photographer and vehicle can occasionally appear in these images, deconstructing the interplay between the subject and the observer. Far removed from the objective reality of the city, if such a thing exists, this viewpoint is arguably shallow as it stems from a brief visitor’s perspective. Nonetheless, the photographer discovers beauty and fascination here. In her home environment, she perceives such development as a sometimes-unwelcome interruption. Yet, beauty can be found in numerous aspects.

Focusing on themes of construction and deterioration, structured art and unstructured art, nature, and individuals with various levels of acquaintance with the city, this photographer found both herself and Toronto through her lens, experiencing both the familiar and the strange in a place she had never visited before.”

Keller holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Penn State. She enjoys painting, sculpting, sewing/designing garments, and, of course, photography. A passionate traveler, her recent visit to the Canadian city of Toronto deeply affected her, inspiring her to share her experiences of the city’s inhabitants, nature, and growth.

Similar to the library, this exhibition is complimentary and accessible to the public. Interested in acquiring one of Roxanne’s photographs? You can email her at kellerroxanne@gmail.com.
