UConn Dominates Xavier in a Stellar Showdown!

HARTFORD, Conn. – Graduate student Azzi Fudd achieved a season-high of 23 points to guide the No. 7 UConn women’s basketball team (14-2, 5-0 BIG EAST) over Xavier (5-10, 0-4), 81-27, Wednesday evening at the XL Center.

Fudd converted 9-of-14 attempts from the field and contributed two rebounds alongside three steals.

Freshman Sarah Strong maintained her streak of scoring in double figures in every matchup this season, earning 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds and five steals.

Freshman Allie Ziebell came off the bench to achieve a personal-best of 17 points. She shot 5-of-9 from beyond the arc and netted 15 of her points in the second half.

The Huskies amassed 42 points off turnovers and accounted for 36 points in the paint.

UConn showcased dominance throughout the entire match, restricting the Musketeers to single digits in three quarters. The Huskies entered halftime with a commanding 45-10 advantage.

UConn returns to action against Georgetown (8-7, 1-3) this Saturday at the Entertainment & Sports Arena. The tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. on SNY. The teams previously competed on Dec. 15 in Hartford, resulting in a 79-44 victory for UConn.
