HONOLULU–The women’s tennis team of the University of Hawai’i persisted with their competition on Day 2 of the Weinman Foundation Invitational against No. 2 Texas A&M and No. 17 Southern California on Thursday at the UH Tennis Complex.

Hawai’i commenced by triumphing in two doubles contests. The UH pair of Peppi Ramstedt and Sheena Masuda outperformed Texas A&M’s Nicole Khirin and Jeanette Mireles, 6-3, while their teammates Ana Vilcek and Nikola Homolkova overcame Southern California’s Emma Charney and Immi Haddad, also by 6-3.

Freshman Makeila Nepomuceno achieved UH’s solitary singles victory, besting the Aggies’ Lizanne Boyer in successive sets, 6-4, 6-3. UH’s Ana Vilcek contended valiantly but succumbed by a break in both sets against USC’s Lily Fairclough, 6-4, 7-5.
