Fox Lane’s Annabel Smith is 2024 Westchester/Putnam swimmer of year

Fox Lane senior Annabel Smith shares her cherished memories from this swim season and her future aspirations.

This season, the 2024 Journal News/lohud girls swimming all-stars achieved remarkable distinctions in the pool. Here is the Westchester/Putnam team.

Year: Senior

Highlights: At the previous month’s NYSPHSAA championships, she secured second place in the 100 breaststroke with an All-American consideration time of 1:03.79. She finished ninth in the 100 freestyle. Smith contributed to the third-place finishes of both the 200-medley relay and the 400-free relay. During the Section 1 championships, she aided the Foxes to a third-place overall finish. She clinched the Section 1 title in the 100 breaststroke and claimed second in the 100 free. Additionally, she led the 200-medley relay to the Section 1 title and the 400 free relay to a third-place finish. Smith is the Conference 3 champion in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke. She was instrumental in the Foxes capturing a Conference 3 title in the 200 medley relay and was second in the 400 free relay. Smith obtained All-Section accolades.
