YORK, Pa. – The Dickinson women’s swimming squad made a remarkable return to competition on Wednesday evening by defeating both the home team York College of Pennsylvania and Hood College at the York College Natatorium. The Devils secured a 123-78 victory over the host Spartans and a 147-44 success against the Blazers.

The Red and White initiated the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of Madeline Dold, Bella Gerkin, Anna Gnagey and Emma Johnston achieved a time of 1:53.71. Another DC team featuring Sydney Farling, Sarah McHenry, Sarah Mulcahy, and Meghan Schmidt took third with a time of 1:58.91.

Tori May won the 1000-yard freestyle by finishing in 11:09.17, which was ahead of teammate Izzy Klonsky who came in second at 11:41.57.

Caitlin Gross achieved the highest placing for the Devils in the 200-yard freestyle, seizing third place with a time of 2:03.70, while Johnston (2:08.00), Schmidt (2:08.12), and Annelyse Warner (2:19.07) took fifth to seventh positions respectively.

Dold garnered her first individual win of the evening in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing at 26.45, followed by Isobell O’Connell in third (26.82) and Farling in fifth (27.34).

The pair of Gnagey and Gerkin excelled in the 200-yard individual medley, clinching first (2:12.55) and third (2:31.23) positions respectively.

DC achieved another “one-two” finish in the 200-yard butterfly as Mulcahy claimed victory with a time of 2:21.15, while Johnston finished at 2:32.42.

Dold secured her second solo win in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 58.83, and was joined on the podium by Klonsky in third (59.82).

May achieved yet another victory for the Devils in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 2:12.54. McHenry and O’Connell followed in third (2:21.09) and fourth (2:28.95) respectively.

Schmidt completed the podium for the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:49.02, while Warner finished sixth (6:12.34).

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Farling placed second with a time of 2:38.98, followed closely by Gerkin at 2:40.42.

The meet concluded with Dickinson triumphing in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Gnagey, Gross, Klonsky, and May finished with a time of 3:48.87, followed by the team of McHenry, Mulcahy, O’Connell, and Warner who secured third place (4:12.77).

Dickinson (4-4, 1-4 Centennial) will host their sole home meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at 1pm when they welcome Messiah University to the Clarke Aquatic Center.
