ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan men’s swimming and diving squad (2-1, 1-1 Big Ten) is set to face No. 11-ranked Ohio State (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) on Saturday (Jan. 18) at noon in Canham Natatorium for the concluding conference dual meet of the regular season. The event will be broadcast live on B1G+.

Notes

• The Wolverines aim to recover after suffering a setback against No. 2 Indiana last Friday (Jan. 10) in Bloomington.

Colin Geer excelled against the Hoosiers, securing first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:42.31. The sophomore also achieved second place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:44.00.

Tyler Ray earned two second-place finishes against Indiana, recording a time of 45.78 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly and a season-best time of 1:42.36 in the 200 fly.

Gal Groumi claimed second place in the 100-yard freestyle in his last outing, finishing in 44.64 seconds. Groumi’s season-best time of 41.75 tops the Big Ten.

Jon Jøntvedt achieved a new personal best in the 1,000-yard freestyle in Bloomington, finishing with a time of 8:55.40. The freshman’s record is currently the sixth-best in the conference.

Eitan Ben-Shitrit looks to maintain his recent achievements against the Buckeyes. In 2024, he finished in second place in three different events.

Julian Cardenas enters the Saturday competition with confidence after placing third in the one-meter dive with a score of 361.20.

• Michigan will compete against Ohio State for the 90th time, leading the overall series 73-14-2, although the Buckeyes have emerged victorious in the last three encounters.
