Alma, MI – Alma College Swimming hosted The University of Olivet and Manchester University on Saturday for dual action in the McClure Natatorium. The Alma women achieved a clean sweep, while the Scots men divided their two competitions.
 
Women: (Alma 164, Olivet 62) (Alma 171, Manchester 56)
 
The Scots women completed a clean sweep throughout the day, winning both of their competitions convincingly. The 200 medley relay team consisting of Sofia Floros, Laney Voisinet, Emma Figlewicz, and Grace Ludema claimed a pair of victories to kick off the meet. Madi Mendez secured two victories in the 1000 freestyle. Megan Neeley celebrated three wins, triumphing in the 200 free, 500 free, and 200 IM in both competitions. Floros followed with a victory in the 100 backstroke against Olivet. Voisinet achieved four second-place finishes due to her performances in the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. Emma Figlewicz won both the 100 and 200 butterfly events in both competitions. Ludema dominated both meets in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Lily Smith conquered both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. To conclude the day, Floros, Ludema, Mendez, and Neeley finished first in the 800 free relay.
 
Men: (Alma 169, Olivet 16) (Manchester 172, Alma 100)
 
For Alma’s men, the relay team of Ryan Gray, Brent Riehl, Max Nielsen, and Owen Reed secured victory in the 200 medley relay against Olivet. Eli Mull achieved four wins, sweeping the 100 freestyle and 500 freestyle events. Reed claimed victories in the 200 free and 200 IM versus Olivet. Andrew Barrett won the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle against Olivet. Riehl excelled in both the 100 breaststroke and the 100 freestyle. Kyle Scheck triumphed in the 200 fly and 200 breaststroke versus Olivet. Ryan Gray dominated the 200 backstroke. Nielsen secured a victory in the 100 fly against Olivet. The relay team of Riehl, Mull, Nielsen, and Barrett excelled in the 800 free relay to conclude the meet.
 
The Scots will return to competition on January 25 at Calvin for an MIAA double-dual alongside the Knights and Albion College.
